Space Babies

SpaceBorn United wants to grow a baby in space. Human biology research in space has historically abided by the "Common Rule"—a U.S. federal policy that ensures safety and high standards. But now that scientific research is being conducted on private spaceflight missions, experts and ethicists are worried that there's a lack of rules governing human experiments in space.

Dorit Donoviel, executive director for the Translational Research Institute for Space Health was quoted in an Aerospace America article stating:


“Having a baby in space concerns me quite a bit. Will we be creating a new race of humans?”
