Founder, Mary McGuinness
Mary has been a journalist and strategic futures analyst for 20+ years. Before launching The Future NYC, she was co-owner of strategic futures agency Sputnik for 16 years, and cofounding director of Sputnik Observatory, a not-for-profit cultural institute and Webby Award Honoree. As a journalist, Mary has had the pleasure of conducting original, filmed interviews with notable figures, ranging from entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, to scientists, academics and space mavericks. As a strategic futurist, Mary has advised multiple multinationals on how best to anticipate tomorrow's agenda. Mary attended the University of Oxford, Hertford College, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Literature & Rhetoric from Binghamton University. She's an avid cycler, an Ivory Snow baby, and her mother was a fan of alliteration.

McGuinness has interviewed 100+ notable figures in industry and academia. She began her career as a journalist in 1993, and started her career as an entrepreneur in 2000. McGuinness has also been an executive producer of 400+ original, digitally filmed interviews conducted via a network of correspondents she mentored and managed around the world.
